One of Facebook’s co-founders, the billionaire Silicon Valley tycoon Dustin Moskovitz, is pledging $20m to the effort to help defeat Republican Presidential nominee Donald J. Trump.
Moskovitz announced Thursday that he and his wife would be donating the amount to Political Action Groups and the Clinton Campaign to help fund the effort to keep the bombastic billionaire out of the Oval Office.
Trump’s campaign has cultivated a lot of detractors with his flowery and demeaning language towards Hispanics and Muslims and the White Nationalist nature of much of his support.
Moskovitz, in a post on Medium, outlined the necessity of keeping Trump from winning the Presidential elections.
“Like many Democratic voters, we don’t support every plank of the platform, but it is clear that if Secretary Clinton wins the election, America will advance much further toward the world we hope to see,” he wrote.
“If Donald Trump wins, the country will fall backward, and become more isolated from the global community.” he added.
Moskvitz donation is personal, and in no way represents the official position of Facebook as an entity.
