Violence is the big no-no nobody wants, but it seems to be permeating the political process as the big day draws ever closer.
One NPP activist in the Brong Ahafo Region was severely beaten by machete wielding NDC supporters, whilst another, a security guard, has reportedly lost an eye after clashes between both parties in Kukuom in the Asunafo South District of the region.
The NPP activist, described as Busia, is the driver of the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in the area, and was reportedly was thrown upon by the NDC members wielding weapons.
“In fact it was an eyesore. That was the first day I saw people butchering human being like meat. They butchered the guy seriously,” an eyewitness [name withheld for security reasons] told 3News Thursday.
The security guard who lost his eye suffered his injury in a revenge attack which took place on the Asunafo District Assembly early Thursday. The attack saw the destruction of state property at the Assembly and the District Electoral Commission office, 3News added.
