Passion, dedication, self preservation – these are all qualities that New Orleans based writer Gideon Hodge showed in abundance in a recent incident that’s making waves online.
Hodge run into his burning apartment to save his laptop, which at the time contained two completed novels he had written and which he simply couldn’t allow to be burnt to a crisp.
“Anybody that’s ever created art, there’s no replacing that,” Hodge told The New Orleans Advocate.
“It [the laptop] has got pretty much my life’s work,”
The fire reportedly started from a nearby house and spread to Hodge’s building, although luckily everyone managed to escape in time to safety. Hodge dashed back in to grab his laptop and also managed to escape unscathed.
