The level of sickness required to carry out such an abominable act is hard to comprehend, and simply claiming one had taken ‘ganja’ is not enough of a reason for such horrible actions.
A 22 year old man known as Lucas Agboyie, alias “Sympathy”, currently on trial at the Magistracte Court in Accra, has confessed to killing a 7 year old girl and having s*x with her corpse afterwards.
Agboyie committed the act in 2015 and has been in custody since, but delays on the part of the Attorney General’s office has led to the case dragging on despite the suspect confessing his crime.
Agboyie narrated his dastardly actions to a terrified and disgusted court audience during his last trial date.
He said:
It was a Sunday morning and after taking ‘ganja’ (marijuana), I saw the girl passing. I called her and sent her to go and bring me my towel that had been hung behind my house. On her return, I told her that I wanted to sleep with her but she refused.
“I held her hand and she began struggling with me. She begged and told me to let her go and started screaming. So I strangled her.
“I then took her to my room and slept with the body. Afterwards, I took the GH¢20 she had in her possession and used it to buy ‘ganja’,”
Agboyie reportedly narrated the entire incident calmly as the court audience could not hold back their shock. The victim’s mother was in tears throughout the narration.
The trial judge warned the prosecution to step up their game to ease the trial, with the chief prosecutor once again not in court. The case has been pending since April 2015, and it has currently been adjourned to October 4, 2016.
