NPP MP Says President Mahama's Hometown Remains Poor Whilst He Goes Around The Country Sharing Money

President John Dramani Mahama was recently seen apparently sharing money in a video that has sparked conversations on the ethics of that political trick.
The NDC has been stridently defending the action by the President, with some painting it as a form of charity. The NPP have condemned the action, and Bantama MP, Henry Kokofu, has added his voice to the opposition chorus to the action.
Speaking on Kokrokoo on Peace Fm, Kokofu said the President’s actions make little sense especially when one considers that his hometown is actually one of the poorest in the country.
Kokofu riffed off a series of statistics pointing towards the poor status of the residents of Bole Bamboi.
“When you go to the poverty map designed by the government, it is the highest debt inequality in Northern Region.” he said.
“It is the third highest debt of poverty in the Northern Region. 7th poorest district in Ghana; 79.4% of the people there are below the poverty line of 3 cedis 50 pesewas,” Kokofu told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.
Kokofu thus expressed incredulity that in the midst of all these, the President has actually neglected his people and his sharing money.
