NPP's Manifesto Launch An 'Insultfest' – President Mahama

john-dramani-mahama
The President observed the 2016 NPP Manifesto launch with some mirth, it seems, as the opposition party made pummeling his party and his government for their stewardship of the country the past four years a key part of exchanges on the day.
Whilst the NPP were delivering what they called a message of ‘hope’, the President did not quite see it that way.
Taken to social media to react to the launch, the President described the whole launch as an ‘insultfest’ and channeled Michelle Obama to make a point about showing restraint and not insulting one’s opponent.
“Michelle Obama quote appropriate for Ghana too after the NPP insultfest of Sunday. “When they go low, we go high”. he wrote on twitter.
Michelle Obama made the quote during her speech at this year’s Democratic National Convention, talking about the appropriate response to be given to insults from their political opponents.
The funny thing about the President’s quote is that it is totally hypocritical, as the NDC themselves have engaged in enough political name calling to fill a stadium, including just this morning from Koku Anyidoho.
