Borussia Monchengladbach Changes Name To 'A German Team' To Help Spell It Easier

German club Borussia Monchengladbach has taken the unprecedented yet hilarious step of changing the name on their twitter handle from their long, difficult to spell name to quite simply, ‘A German team’.
This step became necessary after they came across this picture of what the poor owner of a Scottish pub had to write on his board after fruitlessly trying to spell the club’s name.
As can be seen from the photo, the pub owner was trying to advertise Wednesday night’s Champions League game between Celtic and Borussia Monchengladbach, but gave up after three attempts at spelling ‘Monchengladbach’ – instead simply writing in ‘A German Team’.
When the club came accross the hilarious photo, they gamely changed their twitter handle to reflect the struggles of the pub owner.
German clubs really have a great sense of humour on social media.
