Former child star Raven-Symone is quitting her duties as co-host of the Morning Talk Show ‘The View’ to work on a new project with Disney Channel where her career really took off post ‘The Cosby Show’.
Symone starred in ‘That’s So Raven’ for four years on Disney, playing the part of Raven Baxter, a psychic highschool student who often hilariously misinterprets her vision to comic effects.
The show was one of Disney’s most popular teen shows and the network is interested in developing a spin-off – and are bringing Raven on board for the project.
Speaking on ‘The View’ Thursday, Raven announced her departure, slated for year’s end.
“I’m excited and sad, but mostly excited. I have an announcement to make.” Symone began on her show.
“No, I’m not pregnant… We’re doing a That’s So Raven II – with no real title. There’s no title yet. I’m very excited.
“I’m going to be leaving before the year’s up.” she said.
She then gave details of the as at yet untitled new show, which features Raven now as a single mother of two kids, one of whom has inherited mom’s psychic abilities.
The show is still in development and there’s no set title yet, not to talk of when a pilot would air.
