Footwear News bosses, who host the annual ‘Shoe Oscars’, announced the Umbrella singer’s Fenty Pumas by Rihanna had won the coveted award on Friday.
“In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined an honor like ‘shoe of the year’,” Rihanna said in a press release. “It means so much to me to make a mark like this in the shoe and sneaker industry and to have so many people share my love for the creeper.”
Rihanna’s funky take on the ‘creeper’ has become a huge hit among trendy celebrity A-listers and fashionistas – Gigi and Bella Hadid, Future, Lena Dunham, and Jessica Alba have all been spotted wearing the shoe of the year.
