President John Dramani Mahama says the overlord of the Ashanti kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has admitted to him that his government has done great work in the Ashanti Region.
The President was speaking on Garden City Radio in Kumasi when he said Otumfuo had informed him during a recent visit that his government had carried out magnificent work in the region.
“I was with Otumfuo yesterday to pay my respects to him on a courtesy visit and he received us very warmly and he actually said that we had done a lot of work in Ashanti but then we should learn to tell our story to let people know what we’ve done,” the President said.
According to him, Otumfuo is not the only one talking about the party’s good works but he’s hearing it everywhere he goes.
“And so everywhere I’ve gone, I’ve actually pointed to the good works we have done.
“We are seeing more enthusiasm, we are seeing more commitment, we are seeing a better turnout this year than we did in 2012 and, so, it makes me very confident that we are going to increase our numbers in Ashanti.” he added.
