An unexpected Facebook bug that hit the social media site Friday started ‘killing’ off people indiscriminately.
The bug affected numerous users, including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg himself.
Facebook has a feature where they create a memorial for a user who passes away, and the bug created the memorial for numerous users who were not dead.
This caused some alarm as people wondered how their close friends had died so swiftly without their notice.
Facebook fixed the bug and issued an apology on the mistake.
“This was a terrible error that we have now fixed,” a Facebook spokesperson said. “We are very sorry that this happened.”
