Africa’s one and only ‘Kokomaster’, D’Banj, has been sued for over N100m after a debt he owed a technological company was not settled on time.
D’Banj’s promotion company D’Kings Men Media LTD hired MindHub to promote an event it was organising online, and the contract clearly stipulated that D’Banj would be personally held liable for the amount in the event D’Kings Men Media failed to pay for services rendered.
After the event, the company indeed failed to pay the monies owed, leading to requests being made to the artist to pay.
MindHub had invested $500,000 and N20 Million in the event.
Despite repeated attempts to retrieve the money, nothing has been received – and a couple of cheques issued to them have not cleared due to insufficient funds. This led MindHub to file against D’Banj for retrieval of over N100m.
The case is back in court December 9th.
