The Chairman general of the airwaves, Kwame Sefa Kayi, host of Peace Fm’s Kokrokoo, has hit out at the Electoral Commission over its ‘shameful’ decision to charge journalists to cover the 2016 elections.
The EC turned heads with the announcement a while ago that journalists requiring accreditation would have to pay a fee to gain that accreditation, a decision many have described as underhanded and unconstitutional. They are even facing a lawsuit over the case.
Speaking on the issue, Kwame attacked the topic head on, describing the EC’s position as shameful and detrimental to the practice of a free press.
