Neymar Faces Two Year Jail Sentence In Corruption Case Surrounding His Move To Barcelona From Santos

neymar
Spanish prosecutors are asking for a two year jail sentence for Brazilian forward Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. over allegations of corruption involved in the convoluted deal that took him from Santos to Barcelona in 2013.
Neymar, his father and agent Neymar Sr, Barcelona and Santos officials are all facing criminal charges in Spain for withholding portions of the revenue made from the deal.
The trial judge has accepted that charges of corruption can be brought against the accused and prosecutors are now asking for jail sentences, including two years for Neymar and a fine of €10m to be paid by him.
Neymar’s father faces similar charges, as does former Barcelona President Sandro Rosell. Barcoelona also faces a fine of up to €8.4m.
