Sprinter Usain Bolt has revealed he still retains his dream of one day playing for his favourite club Manchester United, saying he is awaiting a call from current manager Jose Mourinho.
Bolt has long revealed his love for the Manchester club, and has said at numerous times, jokingly or otherwise, that he wants to play for the club.
Speaking at the premiere of his documentary ‘I Am Bolt’ on Monday, Bolt reiterated the point.
When asked if he had been contacted by Mourinho, the triple Olympic sprint king said:
“Hopefully, not yet. Hopefully he’ll call me and see what’s going on. I’m really excited about that.”
Continuing, he said he was hoping Mourinho was thinking of “giving me a call”.
Bolt’s documentary covers his extraordinary life and career, which has included three gold medals at three successive Olympic Games. He has announced plans to retire after the World Athletics Championship in London next year.
“It’s big. London is a place where I get a lot of love. It’s the right place for me to retire.
