Former Ghana Premier League goalking Bernard Don Bortey has called on the top brass at Accra Hearts of Oak to sign him permanently if they want to win the Ghana Premier League for the first time since 2009.
The immortal winger is currently training with his former side in a bid to win a permanent contract with the team, and in a recent interview, has touted his ability to bring the team to the top of the Ghana Premier League pyramid.
“Trust me, I’m here to take the league for Accra Hearts of Oak.” he told Joy Sports. “Because of me, Accra Hearts of Oak is going to take the league.”
Bortey was part of the most successful period in the history of Hearts, during the early 2000’s when the team was unstopabble both home and abroad. The team’s fortunes have waned since, having been unable to win a league title for the last seven seasons. But according to ‘Dada’ Don Bortey, all that ends if he is handed a permanent contract.
