US President-elect Donald J. Trump has been chosen by Time Magazine as it’s person of the year for 2016, calling him the President of the ‘Divided States of America’.
Trump surprisingly beat Hillary Clinton in the US Presidential race last month, and somewhat fittingly, also beat her to this honour as she finished in second place.
The widely circulated and respected publication chooses a person who has had massive influence on world events as their person of the year every calendar year, and for his larger than life persona on the US political stage and leading a movement to the White House, Trump gets the honour.
Besides Clinton, other finalists for the honour included Simone Biles, Beyonce and Mark Zuckerberg.
