‘How To Get Away With Murder’ star Viola Davis has been tapped for the first Hollywood Walk of Fame star for 2017.
The Emmy award winning actress has had a blockbuster year, culminating in her becoming the first African American woman to win a Primetime Emmy for Best Actress in a drama series.
Aside the Emmy, Davis, who also starred in Fences – had more success as she received nominations for both the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The Walk of Fame VP Ana Martinez announced the honour for Davis, who would be receiving the 2,596th star on the famous boulevard.
“Viola is one of the actresses who always mesmerize fans with her talent. She is amazing and we are thrilled that she will grace our world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.” Martinez said.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Leron Gubler will be emceeing the event, with Oscar award winning actress Meryl Streep appearing as guest speaker. Ceremony is slated for January 5.
