It’s Christmas and I do not want to get into the pagan origin of this day. At least, it’s obvious human beings love partying and this day perfectly serves that purpose, irrespective of its historical background or its contemporary Christian hijack.
A lot of love and calmness rest in the air; you can literally feel them!
Suddenly, stress seems to have disappeared from our cosmos and everyone has this new sense of happiness.
On this day, a lot of people get to taste what life ought to be like—for the rest of the year, it’s misery and entrenched slavery.
Last night, I got into a conversation with a friend who will be working from 9am to 9pm today–he has a beautiful family but he wouldn’t be able to spend this day with them, because the bills must be paid.
During our conversation, he told me about how he questioned his existence this week—asking himself; is this life? Literally, all we do is: go to school, work to pay bills and eventually die. He related his thought to the famous Matrix movie and we discussed this extensively.
The above is what majority of us do! We never really live–yet we claim to be alive.
I chipped in my deducted notion that, this circle continues because we have become a race of consumers. We want every new thing, which must be bought with money and that means we have to work to acquire these things–until we finally die.
Ask yourself this; what would you do with a whole year of no work? With each day being such calm and beautiful like Christmas?
This is achievable–and all we have to do is to cut down on our consumption of what the retail world baits us with.
Life is more meaningful when you are able to have more time for yourself; less so when you are just all about material things or the money.
Don’t live to work and eventually just die! Why don’t you make each day a Christmas-like?
