Actress Marion Cotillard has never been a fan of Christmas, confessing she didn’t like to receive gifts as a child.
The Dark Knight Rises star explains her mother used to get upset with her because even though she wasn’t interested in any presents, her mum would try to make her pick out gifts at the store.
“I’m not a Christmas person, I have to say,” she told U.S. morning show Live! with Kelly. “That was from a very young age. I remember fighting with my mum because I didn’t want to get presents. She was very mad at me and it was a fight every year because she couldn’t stand having me amongst the kids not having a present. And I was like, ‘I’m fine, I don’t need anything, I don’t want it’.”
“I don’t exactly know why I didn’t want a (present) so I would pick anything,” she added. “Like, I would enter a supermarket and she would be like, ‘Choose something,’ and I would be like, ‘I’m going to have this’.”
Marion has reason to celebrate this holiday season as she is pregnant with her second child. The 41-year-old announced in September (16) she is expecting a baby next year (17) with longtime partner Guillaume Canet.
The couple has been dating since 2007 and its son Marcel was born in May, 2011.
