Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and his family would be housed in this magnificent edifice dubbed Australia House whilst he serves his term in office.
There has been some controversy regarding the housing of Dr Bawumia as ex-President Mahama is housed in the official residence of the Vice President, a residence he fully intends to keep as his retirement home.
But Bawumia would inherit the Australia House building, which housed Mahama’s vice Amissah Arthur when Mahama declined to move out of the Vice President’s residence when he became President.
It is a plush residence with some ultra modern features including a pool and a tennis court.
In a statement released Monday morning addressing the controversy, President Mahama revealed a new official residence for Vice Presidents is being constructed off the switchback road – so the Bawumia’s might not want to get too comfortable here.
