Mark Okraku Mantey To Sue Sarkodie For Cover Of Daasebre Gyamemah’s ‘Kokooko’

Mark Okraku Mantey has revealed plans to sue rapper Sarkodie for his tribute cover of the late Daasebre Gyamenah’s single ‘Kokooko’.

Sarkodie, a few days ago, released the song, featuring Akwaboah, as a sort of tribute to the late highlife star. He first performed the single, also with Akwaboah, on Christmas Day during his rapperholic concert.

But Okraku Mante, who is CEO of Slip Music, has revealed to myjoyonline that he plans to sue Sarkodie for infringing on his copyright. Mark told the site he produced the original in 1999 and therefore any use of any part of the song without his permission is copyright infringement.

Management of Sarkodie declined to comment when contacted, the site adds.
