Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder and leader of the International Godsway Ministries (IGWC), has come out to categorically deny reports that he said dancehall act Shatta Wale would disappear in a water body like Castro did.

Speaking in reaction to the reports on Okay Fm, Obinim said Shatta Wale is a close associate who he communicates with and thus he would have informed the artiste directly if such a prophesy had come up.

“Shatta Wale is a close associate who respects me as a true man of God. In fact, he calls me Daddy anytime we communicate. We have met over five times and we talk a lot on phone. You can call him to attest to this,” he said, going on to deny the reports vehemently.

“If anyone has video or audio recording to back this presumed prophecy of Shatta Wale from me, I challenge him or her to present it as evidence. There is no truth in it,” he said, adding all his prophecies are posted on his church’s YouTube page.

Obinim was reported to have recently said that Ghanaian dancehall artiste-Shatta Wale will be taken by water just it happened to Castro–with the only redemption being that he should come and see him for deliverance.

Obinim is quoted to have said: “Shatta Wale must come for deliverance from the spirit of Maame Water before he disappeared soon like Castro. Mamiwata is seriously looking for him to use him as her agent. He needs Deliverance.”

As we wrote at the time, we reached out to Bishop Obinim’s media aide-Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya to establish if Obinim made the above statement about Shatta Wale as the reports claim, but he could not confirm or deny it, claiming, he just returned from leave and would have to check with others.

Obinim also added that he knew exactly why so many stories were fabricated about him.

“I asked my media boys to find out where these tell-tales were coming from, and they reported back to me that some blogger claimed that stories bearing my name are hot news, so they use it as a means of generating income.

“So don’t believe everything that is splashed on social media about me… If indeed I made such predictions, you would find them on my You Tube channel,” he emphatically added.
