Ghanaian dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla, known in showbiz as Stonebwoy, has through his newly established ‘Livingstone Foundation’, announced a sponsorship package for five students of the Tema Methodist Day Senior High School.

The ‘Enkulenu’ star has paid the academic fees for the selected students at the school, his alma matter – all as part of activities commemorating the tragic passing of his mother.

Stonebwoy visited the school to announce the package, and spoke to the students of his journey through life.

“I’m grateful that I went through Tema Methodist Day Senior High School, passed my courses and moved on. Aside the academia, I nurtured my music talent. Not to say you should forget school, you need to take your studies seriously. Not everyone is privileged to have parents or guardians pay their schools fees, much less to say on a regular. Even myself at some point, I had to struggle to get my fees paid, so if you have people who support you with school fees, you should take that seriously,” he said.

“And these things I am saying is not new to some of you, but I am sharing my story with you to remind you that many people have gone through same situation as you, but it can only get better. The likes of me and Sarkodie were here. Every level of life is a struggle, but how you come out of the situation is what elevates you and makes you a winner.”

Stonebwoy plans to launch his foundation officially with a ceremony later in the year.
