Former President Mahama Denies Having Any New UN Appointment

Former President John Dramani Mahma has come out to deny news circulating that he has landed a new job with the United Nations, noting it is an old job he has held since his time in office.

Last week several local news outlets reported that the former President had landed a new gig with the UN, to be the co-chair of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) advocacy group.

The reports said the now defeated leader had a new job to concentrate on but in a rebuttal, Mahama says it’s a job he has held since his days in office. A statement circulated as congratulating him on his new appointment was a year old, he said in the post he shared on social media.

“Folks! I have no new UN appointment. The Co-chair of SDG advocacy group appointment was last year January when I was President. What many are sharing are the UN statement from January 2016 announcing the appointment & my statements at the 2016 Davos Forum.” his official Facebook account posted late Sunday.
