Designated Minister For Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, took his turn to be vetted for his nomination and he has caused some stir as to what some classify as arrogance, impatience or being honestly blunt.
The fuel was poured on the burning coal when Minority Chief Whip, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, asked the Cambridge trained Agronomist, his thoughts on why Nana Addo moved the management of COCOBOD from the Finance Ministry to the Ministry Of Agriculture he replied
“New King New Law“.
On further probing, Mr. Muntaka asked the incoming Minister what President Akufo-Addo has mandated him to do with COCOBOD in his jurisdiction and for that he answered
“it was a private discussion and I can’t put it in public“.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto’s utterances has gathered some views and here is what some concerned citizens are saying:
A cantankerous nominee. He doesn't seem to have the patience for questions. How are we going to work with him as journalists. #GhVetting
