Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, is set to take over as Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
According to the state owned Daily Graphic, Sir John would take over the currently vacant role on an acting basis, until the Authorities’ new board is constituted to make a decision on a permanent head.
The new board would be chaired by Peter Mac Manu, former NPP Party Chairman and 2016 elections campaign manager.
The former director-general of GPHA, Richard Anamoo, was relieved of his duties earlier this week. There were reportedly allegations of corruption levelled at him by his own workers.
