Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan got injured in our last group game against Egypt, leading to fears he could be out of the tournament.
However, the Graphic Sports reports that there are plans for Serbian traditional healer Mariana Kovacevic, who has worked with Gyan in the past, to come work with him and help him regain fitness before Sunday’s crunch quarter final tie against the DRC.
Kovacevic is known as a ‘miracle worker’ for her ability to get injured players to come back sooner than expected, with her use of the controversial horse placenta treatment regimen.
She worked with Asamoah Gyan in the 2012 Afcon to speed his return from injury, and also worked with the Serbian national team during the 2010 world cup. She was reportedly first brought to Ghana’s attention in that same year, when Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac took her on as a member of the team’s medical staff.
