The National Service Personnell Association (NASPA) has handed government a one week ultimatum to pay them their ‘real’ allowances or face a strike action.
The NDC government increased the allowances of the personnell from Ghc 350.00 to Ghc 599 just before they left office, with the decision effective January 2017.
But as January allowances are paid, the personnell have been paid the old rate and not the new. This has led to a threat from NASPA to government, calling for the new figures to be paid or they face a strike.
The group released a statement on the issue.
“We went to the bank only to realise that we are still taking the GHS 350.00.We are giving government a One-week ultimatum to give us our entitled GHS 559.04 that we work tirelessly to earn.” it read.
“We will stage a Nation Wide Demonstration to address our issues,”
