Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, Minister-designate of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation has faced the Vetting Committee of Parliament to exhibit his credentials for the job and one of his scientific ideas is to make good use of the dirt in Ghana.

When asked about landfill sites and its detriments to environs by Tamale North MP, Alshassan Suhuyini, the Professor said, in his consideration such dump sites should not even exist. He explained that the garbage can be of so much benefit to the nation when recycled.
Professor Frimpong further explained such waste can be churned into energy generation and other ventures to the extent that, it wouldn’t hurt for Ghana to think of importing waste to recycle like Sweden.

The founder of The National Cardiothoracic Centre in Korle Bu, also hinted on creating innovation centers around the country by his Ministry, should he get the not from Parliament. This according to the Professor is to help Ghanaian craftsmen to make use of their knowledge and skill to manufacture several items of their choice for commercial purposes.
