Funniest Hashtag Ever? #AmericanVsBritish Is Lighting Up Twitter And We Just Can’t Stop Laughing

These two countries’ intertwined history and the American’s fierce independence streak makes their relationship quite a fascinating one.

They’re natural allies but also involved in a kind of rivalry that’s simply timeless.

Despite ‘coming out of’ Britain, America made sure to differentiate themselves with the use of language, in sports, scientific measurements and numerous other ways.

For instance, Americans use Fahrenheit whilst the British use Celsius, they use miles instead of the kilometer, they claim petrol/diesel is actually gas, and football, the world’s number one sport, they insist on calling soccer – whilst they’ve created a weird game played with hands named football.

On twitter today, the hashtag #AmericanVsBritish broke out as people from either country tried to show why theirs is the better way. It’s probably the most hilarious hashtag to break out on twitter in many a day.

It looks like the Brits are leading…one guy makes fun of the US’s hilarious pronunciation of ‘Aluminum’, whilst another points out they did not steal their country from the Indians. One American guy hits at the British for their dental hygiene, although another points out they have Beyonce.

The Americans win then, nothing competes with the Queen Bey.

Check out some of the greatest pieces of banter to come out of #AmericanVsBritish.
