‘Ekiki Me’ singer Wisa Greid has called for fairness in the allocation of nominees and awards in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The nation’s foremost awards show has become plagued with allegations of bribery and corruption this year, after Charterhouse spokesperson George Quaye claimed gospel artists attempt to bribe their way to awards.
This has cast a cloud over the awards show and hiplife star Wisa Greid, who would expect to receive some nominations himself, has called for fairness to dominate the award procedure.
“VGMA’s Pls Be Fair With Your Nominations And Awards This Year. Let’s all help in building a better music industry for Ghana.. Thank You” Wisa wrote on Facebook.
Wisa, who broke out in 2015 with the single ‘Ekiki Me’, also had one of the hits of 2016 with the single ‘Mentse Bo’.
