Elections were held nationwide today to vote into office ten regional representatives to sit on the Council of State.
The President, as mandated by law, has named 14 members onto the body, and today’s polls chose ten more, one from each region, to join the council.

Interestingly, about half of those elected are chiefs who stood for the elections and won, sometimes beating other chiefs to the baton.
