English Premier League Champions Leicester City have sacked manager Claudio Ranieri to save a nose-diving season which seems headed towards relegation from the top flight.
Just a season after conquering England under Ranieri, Leicester have had a poor season, just a place and a point above the relegation zone with just 13 games left to end the season.
The club has thus made the decision to part ways with the manager who achieved the impossible last season.

“The board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the club’s greatest interest,” a statement released by the club read, in part.
Ranieri also led Leicester to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, losing the first leg 2-1 away to Sevilla.
Assistant manager Craig Shakespeare and first-team coach Mike Stowell will take charge of the team until a new manager is appointed.
