Developers of Social Media Apps have been facing keen competition from each other and this newly introduced feature from Brian Acton’s Whatsapp Inc has deepened its rivalry with Snapchat. The update which has been introduced barely 24hrs ago has hugely cause discussion across media platforms with several unpleasant views and reactions.
What is particularly generating the buzz and fuse is about whatsapp scrapping off its previous “status” feature and replacing it with a new feature which works just as snapchat.
The new feature only allows whatsapp users to use a photo or a video with a caption as a status that details what truly they are up to and this photo or video status lasts for 24hrs after which it will automatically be deleted.
More like snapchat, right?
This means for those who keep the same Whatsapp status for a long time or months, will have to resort to the habit of updating their status every 24hrs coercively with a photo or video since just a plane “text” can’t be used no more as WhatsApp status.
Other features like seeing one’s WhatsApp contacts is also missing and below is some of what people are saying so far about the new update:

If Have You Updated your Whatsapp yet tell us your take.
1. Is the competition good for Snapchat which in their late updates have been forcing users to watch other snaps or it’s all unnecessary?
2. Can this new whatsapp feature kill the snapchat craze and market?
