The 89th Academy Awards show – the Oscars – came off Sunday night at the Dolby theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The biggest awards night in film, this year’s show was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and featured a never before seen mix-up in announcing the winners of one category.

‘LaLa Land’ thought they had picked up the award for best picture, but it turned out to be a ‘Steve Harvey’ style mix-up, with ‘Moonlight’ being the actual winners.

Turned out the announcer had been given a completely wrong card – the winner for Best Actress instead of Best Picture – thus causing the unfortunate mix-up.

Moonlight’s cast and crew then came out to receive their ‘rightful’ award.
