Hiplife guru Richard Kwasi Siaw Akrofi, aka Ex-Doe, has expressed a worry that the current feud between Yaa Pono and Shatta Wale could turn violent if left unchecked.

Ex-Doe, who in many ways is a pioneer of the ‘beefing’ subculture in Ghana, with his uber popular one time beef with Chicago, says if neither artist feel like they are winning, they could pull a gun and go the Biggie/Tupac route.

According to Ex-Doe, that would be a very unfortunate turn of events.

Shatta Wale and Yaa Pono are currently embroiled in the hottest feud Ghana music has seen since the Sark-M.anifest beef, stemming from a planned performance at a Cape Coast rally gone wrong which spawned the marvelous ‘Say Fi’ moment.

Speaking on Hitz Fm, Ex-Doe said violence emerging from the beef is a real possibility.

“If one gets angry and cannot win this lyrical fight, won’t he pull a gun? Won’t he go and fight with his squad?” he wondered.

“It is going to be deadly.” he predicted, adding: ” I am really sad,”

Speaking further, Ex-Doe said he really regretted his beef with Chicago, attributing it to being young and reckless. He said they were lucky it did not turn violent.

“I regret beefing with Chicago it feels like we taught the kids something bad. The ‘beef’ doesn’t help the industry though it has brought about attention,” he said.

“We were young when we started (beefing) but when you grow up you and leave the lifestyle, you will realise that even 2Pac and Biggie would have regretted it if they were alive.

“In their case, they lost their lives for doing that. We are lucky we are still alive,”
