Two of Ghana’s former World Boxing Champions accompanied a high level delegation from the Ghana Boxing Authority to meet President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra Thursday.
Led by the Chair of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Peter Zwennes, the delegation visited the President to congratulate him on his win and invite him to an upcoming boxing extravaganza.
Former world champions D.K Poison, Ike ‘Bazooka’ Quartey and Joseph ‘King Kong’ Agbeko were part of the delegations and took turns taking their photos with the President.
“A delegation, comprising the leadership of the Ghana Boxing Authority, led by its Chairman, Peter Zwennes, together with current and former Ghanaian boxing champions, paid a courtesy call on me at the Presidency this morning.” the President posted on social media.
“The purpose of the visit was to congratulate me on my election as President of the Republic, and to invite me formally to the “Freedom Fight Night”, slated for Saturday, March 11, at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra, which is part of the year-long celebration of Ghana’s 60th Independence anniversary.”
