Comedienne Afia Schwarzenegger has described those who commit suicide as ‘murderers’.
Afia expressed the sentiment in a Facebook post tackling the recent increase in reported suicide deaths around the country.
Whilst sympathising and calling on anyone with suicidal thoughts to talk to a friend, Afia said the act is a sin – the act of murder whilst destroying your own soul.

She said there might be many challenges but there’s no sufficient reason for anyone to take their lives.
She wrote:
No one got a perfect smile…behind the smile are pains,relationship stress,job;kids,liars,bloggers etc…
BUT that is not enough reason to kill myself;
It is okay to fail Cos that is the only way we learn…
If you feel like ending it all…please talk to someone,talk to me..
Suicide is a sin…it is murder,taking your own life and destroying your soul…
Talk to someone and kindly explain the pain to Jesus…you will be amazed how healing it feels
How helpful is it to describe people so distraught they take their own lives as murderer’s?
