Seven people have been arrested in a series of raids carried out in the wake of Wednesday’s terrorist attack on Westminster in London.

According to the BBC, police worked all night to uncover as much evidence as possible which informed the raids, which have yielded seven arrests so far.

Acting Deputy Commissioner and Head of Counter Terrorism Mark Rowley briefed the press outside Scotland Yard early Thursday.

“The inquiries in Birmingham, London and other parts of the country are continuing.” he said.

“It is still our belief – which continues to be borne out by our investigation – that this attacker acted alone and was inspired by international terrorism.

“To be explicit, at this stage we have no specific information about further threats to the public.”

Four people, including the attacker and a police officer, have been confirmed dead in the attacks.

The attacks  involved a lone assailant who drove his car along a pavement on Westminster and mowed down civilians.

He then drew a knife and stabbed a policeman, before being shot to death.
