Fortune Magazine have released their annual list of the 50 greatest leaders in the world, with Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein finishing top of the list.
Epstein, who led the Major league Baseball side to their first World Series win in 108 years last year, has been recognised for his magnificent efforts in turning the also-rans into winners within his short spell in charge.
Epstein finished just ahead of Chinese tycoon and owner of Alibaba Jack Ma, with the ever popular Pope Francis finishing in 3rd. Bill Gates’ wife Melinda and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos complete the top five of the world’s greatest leaders.
One notable absentee from the prestigious list who’s unlikely to keep quiet about his snub is US President Donald Trump. His turbulent three month reign so far not good enough to even land him a place among the top 50.
Lebron James (11), Samantha Bee (19), Shakira (27) and Chance the rapper (46) represented the ‘celebrities’ on the list, whilst Zimbabwean businessman Strive Masiyiwa (33) and Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie (42) represented Africa.
