Nursing Student Commits Suicide Over School Giving Her A Different Course Than What She Applied For

A nursing student of the Ashanti Mampong Nursing and Midwifery school has committed suicide, allegedly over a change of course handed her by the school.

Bertha Frimpong, 21, had reportedly applied for the General Nursing programme at the institution, but the school gave her Nursing Assistant (Clinical) instead.

The change had sparked a bout of depression which culminated in her taking her own life, myjoyonline reports.

Bertha drank a dose of a poisonous substance believed to be DDT, which led to her death. She had complained of stomach pains and was rushed to the Mampong Government hospital, later transferred to Komfo Anokye, where she died.
