Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, former NPP Presidential candidate, has been appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the State Enterprises Commission (SEC).
‘Asabee’, as he’s popularly known, takes over from Dr Camynt Baezie. the former CEO, who was asked to proceed on leave by the current government starting this week.
According to the state owned Daily Graphic, “the SEC is charged with the sole responsibility of getting all state-owned enterprises (SoEs) to sign annual performance contracts.”
According to the paper’s government sources, “the Akufo-Addo government was not only interested in the signing of performance contracts by the SoEs but that the new boss would be charged with the responsibility of holding the chief executives of all SoEs to deliver on their contracts.”
