The father of former Ghana International Sulley Muntari has passed away.

Alhaji Muniru Muntari passed on today (Monday, May 29), after battling illness for a while.

A close family source confirmed the death to Ghanasoccernet.com., he was 62.

Alhaji Muniru is father to two Ghanaian players, Sulley and his younger brother Muniru, who plays for Steaua Bucharest in Romania.
