34 Captain Mahama Suspects Charged With Murder–And Were Brought to Court Today

About 34 suspects have been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Justice Ebenezer Kweku Ansah, on Monday June 5, 2017 in relation to the lynching and murder of Captain Maxwell Mahama. The suspects have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and committing murder.

The 34 suspects have been remanded in police custody to reappear on 21st June,  after Prosecutor George Amegah told the court that the prosecution would need more time to conduct their investigations.

Earlier on, scores of angry youths have besieged the court premises demanding that authorities allow them hand out punishment to the suspects. They would not budge and even tried to break through security to grab the suspects and beat them up.

In all about forty-two (42) suspects are being held in police custody in relation to the case as investigations continue.

The family of Captain Maxwell Mahama has announced that the deceased will be buried on Friday, 9th June, 2017.
