The Paramount Chief of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Nene Sakite II, has called on Sarkodie to retract his demeaning Krobo lyrics in the single ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ or face action.
Speaking to the media at his residence in Odumase-Krobo, the chief said Sarkodie’s lyrics smack of ignorance.
“That Okomfo Anokye thing is ignorance because with all the marks on the Krobo woman, telling her you can’t do this – if you do this, this is what will happen to you, most women don’t do that. So that guy [Sarkodie] should retract that song otherwise we would have to meet him at the appropriate quarters,” he said.
Sarkodie’s Krobo troubles stem from his rapping in the recent Kurl Songx single ‘Jennifer Lomotey’, in which he describes a Krobo lady with beads around her waist who is good in bed because of a curse placed on her by Komfo Anokye.
Krobos have been up in arms against the rapper for the lyrics they deem offensive, ignorant and stereotypical.
