A Ghanaian based in the United States, Francis Manu, 32, a student at Colorado School of Mines has died, a friend of the deceased has told GhanaCelebrities.Com.
Known on Facebook as Okomfour Anokye Manu, the deceased who met his untimely death while swimming in Kenney Reservoir on Wednesday was full of energy and fun on social media–his last post on Facebook was on June 14.
On June 14, he posted some beautiful photos and captioned them; “Utah !!! ????”
The body of Francis Manu was recovered late Wednesday night after he had gone on a day out swimming with friends.
It’s reported that Manu had been underwater for about five minutes–following which his friends jumped into the water in an attempt to rescue him but they were unable.
At about 8:20 pm on Wednesday, divers recovered Francis Manu’s body from approximately 30 feet.
Francis was studying Petroleum Engineering and had gone swimming in the Kenney Reservoir during a field session in Rangely.
His Facebook account has already been put into Legacy mode as friends share their memories and others express their shock.
Ibrahim Yeboah, a friend of Francis wrote this: “I have always lived by the principle of “giving people their flowers whiles they’re still alive” hence my silence all this while. You’re the only person who called me “best friend forever”. We laughed, argued, shared secrets we wouldn’t tell any other soul except between the two of us and at times even stayed mad at each other for the pettiest of reasons. I’ll forever miss you Francis “Romeo Okomfour Anokye” Manu and if God has a sense of humour, you’ll make a perfect guest in His abode. RIP Bro #BFF”
