Former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources under the Mahama administration, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, has admitted to planting the recording device that was discovered in the office of current minister Peter Amewu.
The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) found the device hidden in the Lands and Natural Resources Minister’s office during a routine security sweep on Monday.
Questions have been raised about the possible origins of the device, but Inusah Fuseini has admitted to putting it there.
Speaking on Adom Fm Tuesday, he said it was installed by himself whilst in office as part of measures to beef up his security.
He added that he brought in a friend to fix it for him but the installation was never finished.
“We never finished the installation, we started but never finished so to all intent and purposes, they were useless…,” he said.
According to him, he decided to leave it there when his term was done because the device is useless.
The BNI has reportedly invited the installer of the device for a chat.
