Despite seven years of screaming ‘repeal and replace’ Obamacare during the previous President’s term, Republicans ultimately failed to pass their own  healthcare bill with unified control of the Executive and both legislative branches of the U.S government.
3 Republican senators joined the 48 Democratic senators to vote ‘no’ to the so-called ‘Trumpcare’ bill to deal President Trump a huge vote on one major campaign promise to ‘repeal and replace’ Obamacare.Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and John McCain of Arizona were the three Republican senators who voted to torpedo the bill, giving a final vote of 51 ‘no’ votes to 49 ‘yes’ votes.
The Affordable Care Act, mostly known as Obamacare, was the healthcare law passed by former President Barack Obama’s Democratic administration, which Republicans have called a failure since its passage in 2010.
Republicans voted to repeal it over 60 times when Obama was in power, but have now woefully failed to do so when it really matters with a Republican President sitting in the White House who can sign it into law.
