Retired Midwife Cuts Off Two Month Old Baby's Entire P*nis During Botched Circumcision

A two month old baby boy from Akuapem Mamfe in the Eastern Region requires corrective surgery after his circumcision went horribly wrong.
The retired midwife carrying out the procedure cut off nearly the entire p*nis instead of simply the foreskin, nearly killing the child.
According to Starrfmonline, this led the child to “bleed profusely and nearly ended in a hypovolemic shock.”
The midwife tried to solve things by stitching the cut organ back on but it did not work.
The baby is currently on admission at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial hospital, where he’s being treated and is set to undergo reconstructive surgery.
At the moment, it’s unclear if the midwife and the facility she runs are accredited to carry out the circumcision of babies.
